Providing
hands-on emergency care skill workshops for athletic trainers
Preparing Your Team for Every Crisis
ABOUT
Athletic Training Emergency Preparedness Institute
The Athletic Training Emergency Preparedness Institute (ATEPi) proudly provides in person, hands-on emergency modules for athletic trainers. In 2011 the NATA released new updated competencies for all certified athletic trainers. Competencies which athletic trainers are expected to adhere to.
Since the release of these competencies athletic training education programs have included this new content in their curriculum. Which means most new graduates are coming out with these new skill set. But what about practicing athletic trainers who graduated prior to 2011? How do they learn and practice these skills? That’s where ATEPi comes in!
Our philosophy
While there are unlimited resources to athletic trainers and staffs available online for gaining education in the area emergency care, ATEPi has a different approach and philosophy! While it is our hope these lifesaving skills are never necessary for your athletes, it is our philosophy that these are skills which require a high level of understanding and competency should they be needed. And while it is possible to obtain a knowledge of these skills in a "virtual" setting, the proper hands-on application of these critical skills really cannot be perfected in a virtual world! This is why we feel strongly about our workshops being delivered in a face to fact format...at YOUR venue...with YOUR staff!" While the knowledge of these skills may be able to be obtained in a “virtual setting”, the development and proper hands-on application skills cannot be perfected in a virtual world. This is why ATEPi workshops are administered in person…at your venue…with you and your staff!
ATEPi workshops provide a didactic session presenting the latest standards and procedures followed by a scenario based on the field, on the court hands on “lab” session to learn new skills and develop a basic level of competency.
It’s also our philosophy these lifesaving skills are “low occurrence” yet “high proficiency” type skills. Which requires constant review and practice of these skills utilized in potentially critical catastrophic emergencies. Our philosophy and approach is to
prepare your team for every crisis!
